Minutes:
Amy motions to approve, Kaelyn Seconds, motion passes
AVID discussion – Sunflower Elementary won an award. We would like to submit our
name for future awards.
Should add students to Site Council and PTA to get a student perspective.
Community Conversation :
What areas are going well & what areas should we strengthen?
Well
- Some parents love Parent Square, some dislike it depending on the number of
students they have in the school district. A lot of times when parents have
multiple students they are receiving the same information multiple times.
- Parent Teacher Conference sign up was easier
- Suggestion to add additional things for parents/students to do during
conferences. The Art Room was a hit and we would like to see other specials
teachers get more involved
- Less screen time is a plus
- Love that the 5 th graders are focusing on cursive, more pen and paper
- Science class is a good addition

Growth / Improvement
- District should communicate a little more with families and not rely on the schools
to share all of the information
- 2 year calendar is a nice addition so families can plan 2 years out
- Have a different class instead of explorations. Go back to having this be a
lesson with counselor or classroom work
- Get information out to families before we leave for summer break with “what to
expect in the first few months” information.

Website:
- Staff section needs to be updated. Consider adding staff pictures and staff bio’s
- About section – needs to be a brief description about Schwegler, a little about the
principal, and a bit about the history of the school.
- Take out “fundraising” from the about section and add it to the PTA portion
- Move AVID under the parents/students section

We will continue to see what other improvements we would like to see on the website.
